Revisiting the Summer Conference

Thank God for leading us through a summer conference filled with His grace and suffused with His presence in every respect. For example, the Lord prepared for us a speaker energized with spiritual power, brothers and sisters in loyal service, appropriate weather, obedient brothers and sisters etc. In the children’s, English and Chinese meetings, all of the brothers and sisters were able to enjoy the mercy of the Lord, affirm the love of God for us, and experience the goodness and pleasure described in Psalm 133:1 – “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!” May all power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honour and praise be returned to the Lord who loves us so!

The theme of this year’s summer conference is “Jesus died for me; I live for Jesus”. When we consider how this noble and bountiful Lord who created all the heavens - the God Most High - had utterly humbled Himself to die on the shameful cross in order to forgive our sins, we yearn even more to truly know Him, to listen to His words willingly, to love Him, to live and to die for Him, and to follow Him with a fervent heart. God has saved us, and made each one of us the representative of Christ on earth. Although we are weak, yet we are “confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6) Besides, the Lord now at the right hand of God will intercede for us so that we will be guarded against the Evil One. May our lives fully bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit, so that all glory will be returned to our Holy Father.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
