Crossing
the gap between you and others
The
incident made the Brazilian national news. So the
native men told the press, “We now insist that any government official visiting
an Indian village must wear a feathered headdress and body paint!”
Everyone
has a tendency now and then to have the attitude, “My way or the highway!” They
refuse to interact with others because of what they see as irreconcilable
differences brought about by generation gaps and culture. But the truth is that
your way may not be the only way of doing things.
That’s
why God calls all of us to break through those barriers… to cross cultural
boundaries and to bridge generation gaps in order to further His Kingdom.
It’s
not your way or the highway. It’s always God’s way first. Follow His way by
stepping out of your comfort zone and engaging people of different cultures and
ages. When you do, you’ll find you’re much more alike than you’d ever imagined!
