BECOMING
MIGHTY IN GOD
In 2
Chronicles 27 we are introduced to Jotham who became
the King of Judah when he was 25 years old. In verse 2 we read of his heart
desire during his sixteen year reign as the scripture states; “and he did what
was right in the sight of the Lord”. In verse 6 though we read how added to
doing what was right before God, he became mighty in the Lord as it says, “So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before
the Lord his God”.
Preparation in the things of God are a key to spiritual victory in our
lives. How should we prepare? In 2 Chronicles 26 we find some things that Jotham learned from his father, both positive and negative.
During that time he learned to trust in the Lord.
THINGS
JOTHAM LEARNED FROM HIS FATHER (2 CHRONICLES 26)
1. To seek
the Lord early in his reign (verse 5)
2. To
identify God’s enemies who also were his enemies (verse 7)
3. To
prepare his people for battle (verses 9-15)
4. To not
disobey the Lord (verses 16 & 21)

I AM TO BECOME MIGHTY IN THE LORD, THEN I MUST HAVE A FOCUSED:
